Unifi Protect installation at a candy store

I've mounted plenty of devices to metal beams before. Normally this involves drilling a hole into the metal beam with a cobalt drill bit, then using a self-tapping screw that drills out the last bit of metal and creates a really tight connection to the beam.
So when I was asked by a candy store to mount some cameras and access points to their ceiling, and I saw the metal beams, I thought "Sure, this is fine."
It was not, in fact, fine.

After breaking a few bits and bending/breaking a few screws, I realized that maybe these beams are made out of unobtanium and I should try a different tactic.
I stopped by my distributor and purchased some magnetic mounts from MagDaddy. They had mounts for cables and for cameras. And they were fantastic!
This particular install had an AI MS2, a double-ball camera that can look in two different directions. It was absolutely fantastic and worked really well, even capturing the vivid colors of the ice cream that the store sells.

Unifi Protect and Network were a great option for this small business. Not only does the owner now have great video coverage of her store, but she can keep tabs on it after hours in case someone tried to break in and receive instant notifications if that happens. She also can ensure her employees are safe and keep theft at a minimum. Finishing this Unifi Protect installation at a candy store was a lot of fun, even if a bit hard at the start.
