Network replacement after a fire

My parents have a pretty large house with an attached workshop, and unfortunately the workshop caught on fire due to an electrical wiring issue and burned down. After the insurance claim settled, I got the chance to put in a new network at their shop, and it came out rather nice.

One of the cameras I installed was the AI DSLR. We put this up to watch incoming vehicles enter their property, and I was hopeful that with the large price tag it would perform well. Unfortunately, it didn't, and I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase this camera. It does come with a genuine Olympus zoom lens, but the mount is simply too small for the camera, and I just didn't find its performance merited the price tag. It also lacks IR night vision, which was another huge negative.

However, all the other cameras worked really well. I even added a pair of AC Locos to link up their barn with the main network.

We put a rack in the workshop and actually built it into the studs, so its not going anywhere!

As much as the fire sucked, it let us upgrade a lot of things for the same price as older equipment, which made the effort worthwhile in the end.
